Seychelles Marine Conservationist Training Project

Is it your dream to turn your passion for the ocean into a career in the field of marine research, and make a difference in protecting and restoring the biodiversity of the marine environment in Seychelles?

Join the Seychelles Marine Conservationist Training Project (SMCTP) to gain valuable skills by conducting underwater surveys on the status of coral reef ecosystems on 6 to 8 different coral reefs located in the N/W area of Mahe from L’ilot to Anse Major. The data will then be processed and analysed and contribute to existing monitoring programs, such as the Global Coral Reef Monitoring Network (GCRMN) and the CORDIO Coral Bleaching initiative. Results will also be used to increase knowledge on the status of the coral reef ecosystems in this area.

SCUBA diving training courses from the beginner level of PADI Open Water Diver up to the professional level of PADI Divemaster are included in the SMCTP program.
