The Seychelles Marine Conservationist Training Project has two program cycles of each one year.
At the end of each SMCTP program a total of 12 marine conservationists will be trained. Each participant will be equipped with new knowledge and skills related to:
- Coral reef ecology
- Beginner coral and fish species identification
- Fisheries related knowledge, especially commercially important species
- Importance of marine biodiversity, conservation and management
- Coral reef monitoring techniques, including data collection and analysis
- Data sharing and dissemination (e.g., GCRMN database)
